Appraised numerous service, distribution and manufacturing companies for ESOP, divorce and gift tax transactions.
Appointed as receiver/auditor by prominent Houston family law judges, protected and distributed assets of troubled companies.
Invested in four private and public early stage companies involved in domestic and international telecommunications, construction and specialty manufacturing; served as Board Chairman/Director, assisted in raising capital and changing management.

President, CFO Rex Trucking (1997-2001)
As part of a three person investment group, acquired four regional trucking companies and started a freight brokerage company; appointed President and instigated a major turn-around which resulted in sales growth from $6 mil to $25 mil and profits (after large losses) of twice the industry average; sold the company for a gain and assisted in transition to new management.

Managing Partner, Smith&Schumacher (1985-1997)
Arranged sales and mergers of midsize companies, representing sellers (80%) and buyers (20%) in numerous transactions in a variety of industries; marketed and performed hundreds of business appraisals with interviews of senior management, testifying in court for attorneys, principals, and intermediaries as a Senior Member, American Society of Appraisers.

President Stainless/Spring Products (1982-1985)
Acquired and managed a petrochemical manufacturing company specializing in stainless steel pipe fittings; founded a spring manufacturing company which was sold for a gain.

President, Controller Farr Oil Tool, Inc (1978-1982)
Managed and owned (minority interest) an oil tool manufacturer which grew from $1 mil to $17 mil in four years; marketed equipment in Canada, Latin America, North Sea, Soviet Union and Middle East; coordinated manufacturing and supervised sales and finance; established Employee Stock Ownership Plans and offshore companies for international sales.

Audit Senior, Arthur Andersen & Co (1975-1978)
Lead audit teams in performing annual audits for large energy and mining companies, to include pension plans, such as Pennzoil, Dresser, Texaco and Duval.
